Harleen Quinzel (Doctor)
When I started building customs for the 6” animated line, I told myself I did not want to revisit characters I had already made in the previous smaller scale. (Aside from some unmasked heads, and such.) But I knew that rule couldn’t last forever, especially as the line is winding (read more...)
Harley Quinn (Ghostbuster)
What can’t Harley be adapted as? The inspiration for this project came from a New52 comic, in which Harley dons a very Ghostbusters-esque version of her red and blue to hunt to spooks. Of course, I did not care for the color scheme, so I opted for something a little (read more...)
Ha’leen Quin-Zell
Ha’leen Quin-Zell represents Harleen Quinzell in “Gotham Wars.” And frankly, the whole thing is her fault. Many years ago, I got it in my head to adapt Harley to the “slave Leia” look. I was inspired by some of the great fan art and cosplayers I’d seen, but I’d never (read more...)
White Diamond
White Diamond is the bounty hunter persona of Ha’leen Quin-Zell, representing Harley Quinn in “Gotham Wars.” She’s a repaint of a Black Series Sabine Wren. I removed Sabine’s head and reworked the neck, allowing it to be swappable with an unmasked noggin (a Suicide Squad Harley head). The name comes (read more...)
Harley Quinn (Bombshell)
When I crafted an unmasked Harley noggin from a Roxy Rocket figure, I knew I didn’t want the rest of Roxy to go to waste. Fortunately, the answer was staring me in the face from my shelves: animated-style Bombshell Harley! It was a natural fit! As with some of my (read more...)
Harley Quinn (Unmasked)
You knew it wouldn’t be long before I fashioned an unmasked Harley head. Ironically, within a few days of finishing this, DC Collectibles announced their own in the Harley Expressions pack. (The Casimir Curse strikes again!) Fortunately, that head is meant for the BTAS body, and mine fits the larger (read more...)
Harley Quinn (Liquid Factory)
I don’t know much about this resin garage kit. I found it on eBay. The label says “Liquid Factory,” and it appears to have been made in the early 2000s. I made a few changes to the design. First, as big as her chest is now, it was bigger before (read more...)
Harley Quinn (Gods and Monsters)
Given the card-carrying Harley fan that I am, I seem to be required by law to craft as many Harleys as possible. Even the weird ones. And this is a weird one. I don’t know if Bruce Timm designed this version for “Gods and Monsters” as commentary on the status (read more...)
Harley Quinn (Fight)
As I was developing a Mercy custom, I knew I’d want to make versions of Harley and Mercy as they appeared during their fight in “World’s Finest.” This version of Harley is made from the body (and hands) of the final Hasbro Batgirl. Her head, arms, and feet are from (read more...)
Harley Quinn (Mini BTAS)
Back in the 90s I was really good at painting 25mm miniatures. I haven’t done so in years, but Knight Models new line of 35mm animated DC stuff drew me back in. The jury is still out if I’ll try more, but these few were fun. The best part is (read more...)
