Batgirl (Bombshell Bat Monster)
When NECA announced their Gargoyles Demona figure, this Batgirl monster was my first thought. I knew I had to merge parts from a Bombshell Batgirl and Demona together to create this monstrosity. In the DC Bombshells comics, Batgirl starts out as a pilot (purple), and then becomes a vampire (orange). (read more...)
Aquaman (Bombshell)
Can’t have a Bombshells Mera without an Aquaman, right? Aquaman’s torso and arms began as a wrestler from Jazware’s wrestling line. Despite the fact the line is 1:12 (6″) scale, I find that some of the larger men work well as 1:10. I’d tell you which wrestler it was, but (read more...)
Peggy Carter (Agent)
One of the best things to come out of Disney’s MCU is Haley Atwell’s portrayal of Peggy Carter. We are big fans in this house. (We watched both seasons of the excellent TV show, gone before its time.) My wife is especially fond of the character, so I made this (read more...)
Captain Carter
In Marvel’s “What If” animated series, Peggy Carter gets the super soldier serum and becomes the hero known as Captain Carter. It was a great start to a great series! Before the season was finished, Hex3D already had a model for us to print and paint. Thanks, Geoff! The end (read more...)
Captain Carter (Bust)
I printed this Captain Carter bust from a file by Hex3D. His work is excellent and fun, with lots of variety. The body is hollow, the base is solid. I primed her in brown and then drybrushed a bronze finish. My wife is a big Peggy Carter fan, so this (read more...)
Gray Ghost (Bombshell)
One of the many things I admire about the DC Bombshells series is that the creators, artists, and editors resisted the urge to simply gender-swap the characters. The ladies of the DC Universe got the chance to shine, without merely being converted versions of the male characters. In my expansions (read more...)
Baby Doll (Bombshell)
Right about now, you might be thinking ‘What the hell, Casimir? Baby Doll as a Bombshell? That is not okay. You should seek counseling.” I get that. I really do. But hear me out. It’s not what you think. While I was pondering my “comic book style” Baby Doll, I (read more...)
Maxima (Bombshell)
The inspiration for a custom can come from various places. Usually it’s “I want this character on my shelf.” Sometimes it’s a case of “let’s see what can be made from this.” And that’s where Maxima started. McFarlane’s DC Multiverse line has re-written the rules for DC figures. The line (read more...)
Captain Marvel (Bombshell)
I love Back to the Future, and I’m really enjoying NECA’s line of figures. (Finally! I waited 35 years for these!) Given the wide range of historical fashions the Bombshells pull from, I felt adapting a 1955 Biff into a something closer to a varsity jacket would be a good (read more...)
Batwoman (Bombshell Away Uniform)
This one is a straight-up repaint. If DC Direct can do it, so can I. Painting over black with red meant having to repaint first with an opaque, transitional color. I find that tans and beiges work best for this. Then I painted over that with red. Simple stuff. Created (read more...)
