Killer Moth
Another Stew kit. I simply provided a body and some paint. There was a time when I prided myself on my ability to paint straight, sharp lines. I fear those days have passed. Or maybe it’s just the one-two punch of orange and fluorescent green talking. Created March 2014 (read more...)
Green Lantern Larvox
Another Stew kit. Larvox is low enough on the totem pole I might never have gotten around to him on my own. I simply applied paint and magnets. Created March 2014 (read more...)
Renee Montoya (Elf)
I can’t have a Santa Bullock without an Elf Montoya, right? Right. Elf Montoya’s body is the standard Mattel female. I popped off the legs and reapplied at the wider stance, sculpting the short skirt around them to hold them in place. The head is casting of my previous Renee (read more...)
Tyrion Lannister
Shortly after I finished my Arkham Asylum and Arkham City Harley statues, the amazing SKB Studios revealed his latest: Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones. As usual, SKB’s sculpt is spot-on! His Tyrion was a thing of beauty. Normally, I’d be happy to admire such things from (read more...)
Mxyzptlk (Engineer)
I wanted a new Mxyzptlk to go with my new Gsptlsnz, so I opted to go with his “engineer” look as seen in his first episode appearance. That whole bit about him building the giant robot and Gspy trying to distract him to no avail is classic! Engineer Mxy was (read more...)
Gsptlsnz (Reclined)
Gsptlsnz was a labor of love. Repositioning a figure’s limbs like this is usually the work of Climax1. I guess I was following his style on this one. Gspy is mostly a Hawkgirl figure, with her limbs removed and repositioned. She’s also been repositioned at the waist. Her lower right (read more...)
Mala
A Mala custom is a deceptively tough nut to crack, and that’s probably why it’s taken me so many years to get around to making her and Jax-Ur. She’s certainly a beefier shape than the usual wispy female character designs of the Timmverse. That meant having to Frankenstein some parts (read more...)
Jax-Ur
General Jax-Ur was built on a Mattel TNBA batman body. I felt this choice provided the best proportions. The shoulders were Dremeled down for a more rounded look, and the belt blasted off. The torso order was shaped out of Super Sculpey (in the interest of time), and the remaining (read more...)
Annihilator
Climax1: Going where no other customizer will dare to go. Just look at this beast! I doubt I ever would’ve tackled such a project on my own. But C1 didn’t blink. He dived in head first. I don’t know what or if there was a base figure, but that’s a (read more...)
Poison Ivy’s Kitchen
Maybe I’ve watched the episode “Harley and Ivy” too many times, but one day I was struck with how easy it would be to convert a Simpson’s kitchen playset to Ivy’s suburban kitchen in Toxic Acres. The effort consisted primarily of paint, with new graphics for the window and refrigerator. (read more...)
