Killer Moth (Year One)
Beware the terror that is Killer Moth! Tremble in fear of his horrifying visage! Okay, maybe not. Killer Moth has gotten a lousy reputation over the years. How could he not? Just check out his fashion sense over the years. (You can do so at YPB’s excellent Killer Moth Appreciation (read more...)
Huntress (One Year Later)
Another quick and simple, but effective, project. Beginning with the “One Year Later” stories, the Huntress’ costume was modified to cover her abdomen, legs and arms. I added a small amount of Magic Sculpt to hide the existing seam above the abdomen, and the rest is black or white paint. (read more...)
Huntress (McG Style)
McGuinness-style customs are a lot like animated figures: they tend to easily multiply .I knew I might get sucked in once I made Superlad. Huntress is part of my effort to finish out the “S” and “B” teams seen in the “Public Enemies” storyline. The base figure is a McG (read more...)
Harvey Dent (Hush)
As I’ve said before, I’m a huge fan of the “Hush” story, and I don’t mind admitting it. If DC Direct made every character that appeared in the story, I’d be a happy little camper. But since that’s not too likely, I’ll make up the slack. Harvey here happened by (read more...)
Harley Quinn (Sale Style)
It seems when I start to make one Harley, I can’t help but make more. Though in retrospect, I don’t recommend painting multiple variations of that costume at one time to anybody. I am an unabashed fan of “Long Halloween” and “Dark Victory.” Jeph Loeb’s script and Tim Sale’s art (read more...)
Harley Quinn (McG Style)
It seems when I start to make one Harley, I can’t help but make more. Though in retrospect, I don’t recommend painting multiple variations of that costume at one time to anybody. I love the Ed McGuinness figures by DC Direct. Yeah, they can be corny, and the some of (read more...)
Harleen Quinzel (Arkham Asylum Inmate)
I have enjoyed the heck out of the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games. They’re effectively a CGI, “realistically” rendered extension of the animated series. I also enjoy the art of Carlos D’Anda, who was a character designer on the game, and also illustrated the Arkham City comic (written by (read more...)
Hall of Justice
First, I have to admit I can’t stand any incarnation of this cartoon. Even as a kid, I knew the quality was abysmal. The recent DVD did nothing to remove those doubts, and in fact only enforced them. (I tried watching the DVD. I really did. But the ensuing headaches (read more...)
Dee-Dee
One day, I realized that the Danger Girl figures might make great bases for an 6″-scale DeeDee. With the price of Danger Girl figures dropping faster than internet start-ups, now seemed the best time to try. The first DeeDee (to the left) is made from the bob-haired Blonde Danger Girl. Black Mask (Batman Disguise)
I’m not one to normally make “villain of the week” characters, as they tend to be quickly forgotten, but I really enjoyed the recent images of Black Mask dressed as Batman during the “War Crimes” story. Given that this project would not be difficult, and I already had the parts, (read more...)
