Lafayette Arkham (White Knight)
Sean Murphy’s “Curse of the White Knight” introduces us to Lafayette “Laffy” Arkham, a tyrant over old Gotham who may or may not be a vampire. We don’t get to spend a lot of time with Laffy, but he is fascinating in that brief encounter. I was well underway on (read more...)
Nightwing (White Knight)
It’s clear in Sean Murphy’s “White Knight” books that he loves the animated series. Nowhere does that shine though more than his Nightwing design. It’s all but lifted straight from TNBA, adding a light jacket for warmth. I love it! The base figure is McFarlane’s Titans Nightwing figure. The jacket (read more...)
Poison Ivy (White Knight)
Like so many other renditions of Bat characters in Sean Murphy’s “White Knight” books, Ivy is a version unto herself. Murphy’s art is loose enough that it can be hard to pin down the details of her costume, but I think I landed on the main points. As I have (read more...)
Red Hood (White Knight)
I know I’m in the minority when I say I am not a Red Hood fan. Thankfully, Sean Murphy’s “White Knight” books are a continuity unto themselves, and as a result Red Hood’s placement in the Bat mythos is a bit different. This Jason Todd is worth my time! My (read more...)
Harleen Quinzel (Pregnant)
They said it couldn’t be done. They said it shouldn’t be done. But I did it anyway. Yup, I made a custom pregnant Harley figure, from a scene in Batman: Curse of the White Knight. Um, uh, spoilers for the Batman: White Knight books. Probably too late for that. Harley’s (read more...)
Jack Napier (Beyond the White Knight)
Batman: Beyond the White Knight has not yet completed its run, but I’m excited to see where it goes. This is how Jack Napier is depicted in the tale. This was a simple custom that came together in one day. Like my previous White Knight Jack, this uses the TV (read more...)
Harley Quinn (White Knight)
I don’t think Harley ever wore this jester suit/coat combo within the pages of the Batman: White Knight books, but she did appear this way on some of the covers. That’s the look I was trying to recreate. She’s made from a DC Direct Essentials Harley figure, which means most (read more...)
Harley Quinn Noir (White Knight)
The White Knight books continue to impress me. They almost act as a grown-up sequel to BTAS. Which allows for some great character development, especially in Ms. Quinzel. My take on Harley Quinn Noir’s look started with the DC Direct Essentials Harley figure. I removed the unnecessary details, and added (read more...)
Batman (Azrael)
It’s no secret I love Sean Gordon Murphy’s “Batman: White Knight” books. His introduction of Jean-Paul Valley is arguably better than the original. And of course I dig the costume designs. Thankfully, Todd McFarlane knocked those out of the park where the figures are concerned. I had seen some folks (read more...)
Harley Quinn II (Marian Drews)
SPOILER ALERT! If you haven’t read Sean Gordon Murphy’s amazing “Batman: White Knight,” then please click off this page and come back later. It’s for your own good! It’s no secret I love this book. Soon as I can figure out the recipes, I’m sure I’ll make more characters based (read more...)
