Poison Ivy (She-Devil)
Since I finished my Harley Quinn She-Devil custom, I’ve had a hankerin’ to make more “cave girls.” Can’t make a Harley without an Ivy, right? I remembered I had an old ToyBiz She-Hulk that uses a sculpt that was originally intended for their SDCC Shanna the She-Devil. So the project (read more...)
Site Update: November 16, 2019 Harley Quinn the She-Devil
It’s rare that I post only one figure as an update, but this one deserves her own. It’s Harley Quinn, as you’ve never seen her before! You’ll find her in all her jungle-inspired glory right here! And, as always, the photo archive has been updated. Enjoy! Casimir November, 2019 (read more...)
Harley Quinn (She-Devil)
This custom was 100% inspired by the art of renowned comic book cover artist Joe Quinones. (He’s done some amazing work for DC, Marvel, and others.) His original piece is an homage to and a parody of the Shanna the She-Devil #1 (1972.) This Harley exists very much in the (read more...)
Site Update: July 15, 2019 Bombshells Class of 2019
It’s time to unleash some more Bombshells! As you can probably tell, I was thoroughly disheartened with DC Collectibles’ decision to cancel the final six figures. With this batch, I have now crafted stand-ins for five of those six. (I’ll get around to Joker eventually.) Naturally, I would have preferred (read more...)
Bettie Page (Astronaut)
Bettie Page as a retro-sci-fi astronaut seemed like a natural fit. As a custom goes, she was a fairly easy build. The body is Space Harley from the designer series. I filled in and sanded down the etched diamonds, and added some swivel articulation to the upper arms. The head (read more...)
Bettie Page (Bombshell)
How can anybody look at the Bombshell Poison Ivy figure and not see a Bettie Page custom just begging to be made? Far be it from me to ignore the call. This one was simple. It’s just a head swap (Cleopatra Bettie) and paint. Aside form patching up a couple (read more...)
Black Canary (Bombshell)
Black Canary was one of the six Bombshells figures solicited by DC Collectibles and then cancelled. I was not prepared to take no for an answer. So I took matters into my own hands. Canary was a tough recipe to crack. By no means do I claim to have found (read more...)
Bumblebee (Bombshell)
Bumblebee was one of the six Bombshells figures solicited by DC Collectibles and then cancelled. I was not prepared to take no for an answer. So I took matters into my own hands. From the waist down, she’s taken from a Bombshells Batgirl. The torso and arms are from a (read more...)
Harley Quinn Nurse (Bombshell)
Nurse Harley was one of the six Bombshells figures solicited by DC Collectibles and then cancelled. I was not prepared to take no for an answer. So I took matters into my own hands. Harley’s legs started as Poison Ivy’s. Her torso and arms are from a Bombshells Batgirl. The (read more...)
Lady Blackhawk (Bombshell)
Of all the DC characters that should have been part of the Bombshells designs, Lady Blackhawk is at the top of the list. Why wasn’t she? No idea. I guess DC figured that might have been a little too on the nose. Still, she should have been a member. My (read more...)
