Outside of some animated-style figures, a proper Ventriloquist figure has yet to be made by any company. (C’mon Todd, this is your chance to step up.) I’ve always wanted a basic, comic-style Arnold Wesker and Scarface on my shelf. I started this project, and it sort of fell between the cracks. I’ll be the first to say it didn’t live up to me expectations. I suppose it will do for now.
Scarface was the easy part. I used the body of the DC Direct Arkham Asylum Scarface accessory. (He was packaged with… Harley? I don’t remember.). I sculpted over his shorts to give him full pants. I swapped his very game-specific head for a 3D print, using a free file I found on Thingiverse.
Arnold started with the DC Direct Silver Age Jimmy Olsen figure. Up until this point, things had gone smoothly, and then I realized I didn’t have a head that possessed that comic-book Ventriloquist vibe. Nor could I find one to buy or print. So I settled on a Diamond Select Gotham TV Alfred head. I altered his hair and gave him some glasses from fodder supplies. It still looks like Sean Pertwee.
He’ll do for now, until a better head comes along.
