Once again, I must praise Mattel for offering a wide variety of characters, even if they have to cut corners to do it. I know the designers are doing their best to appease the fans and keep their jobs at the same time. That being said, I still feel the need to pick up where Mattel leaves off.
Mattel’s Zatanna was a decent enough enough effort using existing parts and new head. I didn’t have to add much. I sculpted the lines of the vest and created a dimensional bow tie. I also added some coat tails using vinyl. Tecnically, Zatanna is meant to be wearing French cuffs, and not rolled up sleeves, but I felt the amount of work involved in moving those down 1/16th of an inch was not worth the trouble. She still looks good despite this.
A snazzy and accurate paint job, and I finally have a decent JLU Zatanna!
