It’s time for another edition of “3D-Printed Batmobiles!” This time it’s from “Beware the Batman,” a criminally underrated show Cartoon Network sought to sabotage when it aired.
Once again my thanks go to digitallyforgeddesigns, who digitally sculpted this beast. Without his obvious affection for Batmobiles, none of these projects could happen.
I printed the majority of parts using Siraya Tech Blu Black Nylon. It’s slower to use and a little more expensive than “regular” resin, but it’s less brittle. Imagine the nighmare of dropping this and watching it shatter! The headlights were printed with Siraya Tech Blue Clear. The windshield and yellow lights were printed with Reprapper Translucent Yellow.
This monster is 20.5 inches long and 14.5 inches wide. It weighs a mighty 6 pounds and 11 ounces. (And that’s with most of the pieces printed hollow.) The original files were meant to be printed smaller. I scaled it up 166% to bring it closer to 1:12. The cockpit allows for a figure, but the cover won’t fit over the pointy bat ears. (If I scaled it to accommodate the ears, the whole thing would be too large.)
I created the labels for the interior, inspired by images from the show.
This was (another) labor of love that took several weeks to pull together. As always, I’m not accepting commissions to build another. (Unless you’re willing to pay a stupid amount. Stupid amounts start at four digits.)
My next bat-vehicle is already finished. Just need to get it photographed…
