Joe Quinones’ “Batman 89” is the first official continuation of the Burton-Keaton Bat universe. (And it’s sequel “Batman 89 Echoes.”) I haven’t really been sold on the writing of either, but Quinones’ art and design work is excellent! Among those designs is an era-appropriate Batcycle. Imagine my surprise when I learned Fardonne EsculturaDigital had created a 3D sculpt and was making the files available for printing. Now I could add the bike to my shelf!
My version is printed mostly in Siraya Tech Blu Nylon Black on an Elegoo Jupiter. The windshield is printed in Siraya Tech Fast Smokey Black. I scaled everything to 1:10 so as to accompany the McFarlane movie figures.
The handlebars rotate “inside” and the windshield in on ball joints such that it can close over the main body. Pretty cool!
Can the figures sit on it? Not really. That’s partly because the foot wells aren’t deep enough, and partly because Todd refuses to include thigh swivels on most of his figures. Get over it, Todd. Thigh swivels are necessary to replicate how humans move. But hey, the bike till looks great on the shelf!
