Ubu is part of my “lost wave” of figures. Like the others in this wave, he was fully sculpted almost two years before he was painted.
Old School Ubu is another variation on my Superman recipe. The torso and arms a from a Hasbro Superman, while the legs are Racer X’s. The head is an old school Bruce Wayne, which would account for the out-of-character half smile. The arm bands are Kneadatite, while the belt is Kneadatite covered in vinyl.
Like the others in this wave, he’s not as strong a custom as I’d like, but after two years, I’m just glad he’d finished.
Created Spring 2005

Easy: A simple parts swap. Little if any paint.
Basic: Some modified parts. Mostly a new paint job.
Skilled: Lots of new and modified parts. “Frankensteining” often involved.
Advanced: All of the above, plus a great deal of original sculpting.
