Back in the 90s, Robin (Tim Drake) drove his own sweet ride, known as the “Redbird.” Aside from a die-cast Eaglemoss version, I don’t think it’s been made as a toy.
For this rendition, I started with one of the budget-priced, Spinmaster Batmobiles intended for their 12″ figures. Like previous Batmobiles in this line, it tends to scale well with 6″ and 7″ figures. (Even though there is no interior to speak of.) With the exposed wheels, this design is clearly meant to evoke thoughts of the Tumbler. But something about it’s shape reminded me of the Redbird. I didn’t have Robin’s car in this scale, so I disassembled it and gave it a new paint job.
Maybe someday I’ll give it seats!
